HOW TO - FEATHERS

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions9
Select feathers you are going to use

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions1
Insert micro-link(s) on to threading needle.
If you are doing a Feather cascade insert 3 micro-links.

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions2Section clients hair.  Grasp about 3mm section of hair that is underneath client's natural part.  Insert sectioned hair into the threading needle.
NB.  For feather cascade, grasp 5mm section hair and do a simple plait of sectioned hair.  this helps mircro-links grip to hair as you position down the plait.

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions3Slide micro-link off threading needle and onto hair.
For Cascade slide one microlink off the threading needle.

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions5Hold the micro-link close to the scalp, insert feather/s into the micro-link.  Be sure to place feather so it falls flat with your hair. Use your artistic license to insert 1-3 various colours.

Do not hold in upright or sideways direction.  It will cause uneven tension.

Crimp the
micro-link flat.  Be sure to crimp the micro-link tightly so it flattens out completely.  The crimped micro-link should be straight and follow th flow of the hair.  For Feather Cascade repeat the process further down the plait.  Approx 5-7cm apart depending on length of hair.

hairflairs_featherextensions_directions8TO REMOVE:  Insert the micro-link into the crimper.  Crimp in the opposite direction to open.  Slide the feather from the micro-link.  Discard the micr-link.  You can re-use the feather.

TIPS:  This technique is only recommended for stylists. Practise on mannequin first.

Using scissors, cut clear application sheet with desired amount of crystals attached.  Stick clear application paper on top of small thin section of hair.  Crystals should face up.

Place heated styling tool on top of clear paper and underneath hair.  Heat each crystal for 3 to 5 seconds.

Crystals will bond to hair.  Let hair cool fully before removing clear application paper.  Crystals will last through several washes.

TO REMOVE;  Crystals will last through several shampoos and will eventually fall out by themselves.  No glue or residue, no damage to hair.  If you want to remove them sooner: saturate the back of the hair and the crystal with hairspray or alcohol and gently rub until detached.  Discard crystal.
